Research Assistant, VA Project

Caryn Anderson
I focus on improving the usability of scientific research relevant to foreign policy in conflict and post-conflict environments by synthesizing evidence from text. Theory and methods for translating scientific information into evidence-based policy and practice change are also relevant. My service with the U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense in Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan from 2009-2013 convinced me that making relevant social science research more consumable and usable might contribute to more effective policy-making and implementation on the ground.
